The Courageous Youth Program

In just one lesson you'll be out on the water. If you like it—which we're sure you will—before long you'll be skippering a boat, racing on a team, or cruising around the harbor islands. And if you stick with it and practice hard enough, one day you could even be teach others how to sail as a Courageous instructor!

We also do tons of other activities alongside sailing to inspire our students to be stewards of the environment and leaders on their boats and in the community. From fishing off our pier to overnight island camp-outs, we'll keep you having fun on adventure after adventure, all summer long!

And don't forget to check out our school-year opportunities, too. At each of our four Boston sites and in each of our Five Steps, there's sure to be something for everyone. We encourage you to keep exploring the youth pages for more information on important dates, program registration, and special events.

YOUTH SAILING AT COURAGEOUS

From the bare basics of boathandling, to dinghy racing and instructor training, we'll teach you everything you need to know about sailing! Check out our innovative Five Step approach. And here's HOW TO REGISTER.
The Courageous Youth Program teaches much more than sailing. Learn more about our programs in environmental education, leadership training and professional development.
At our Charlestown and Jamaica Pond sites, the Courageous Youth Program offers spring and fall courses and outings specifically tailored to the out-of-school time and alternative education needs of Boston public schools and youth groups, as well as first-time and advanced sailors.
