The moment you've been waiting for is here: we're officially accepting registrations for Frostbiting 2013.
Registration is currently open only to returning members of the Frostbite fleet. The Early Bird price, good until Friday, October 11, is $1,150, a $50 discount off the usual price.
You'll need to do 3 things to register.
1. Fill out the registration form below. This form must be complete with all crew member information.
2. Call Courageous to make your payment. We will accept payment from up to 2 people per boat. All teams and "syndicates" must designate a team leader to coordinate registration and payment.
3. Once steps 1 & 2 are complete, you will receive an email from Jen Bodde confirming your entry.
Registration is first come, first served, and is only official once payment has been made in full, the registration form has been completely filled out, and you've received email confirmation from Jen.
Ahhh, Boston winter. You could curl up somewhere warm, perhaps enjoying a toasty fire and a hot chocolate...OR you could join us for the best racing of the year!
Every Saturday from November through March, Courageous hosts Frostbiting, winter racing in 24 Rhodes 19s. Our fleet features top notch competition, a commitment to sportsmanship, and 24 evenly matched Rhodes on the line each week. Best of all, our Frostbite racers are supporting free and low-cost programming for kids, while enjoying the great breeze, good company, and quality race management that are the hallmarks of Frostbiting at Courageous. The cost is $1,200 per boat for a full share. Registration is currently open to returning racers only (Early Bird discounted price of $1,150/boat), and will be opened to newcomers after October 11.
If you are interested in joining the fleet (either as skipper or crew), please contact Jen Bodde, Acting Adult Program Director at firstname.lastname@example.org. Skippers must have extensive racing experience and a solid understanding of the current Racing Rules of Sailing.
There are no results for the 2013-2014 series yet. Racing begins Saturday, November 9th.
High School Sailing
Several competitive high school sailing teams train at Courageous' sites in Charlestown or Jamaica Pond. Whether a school is putting together a team for the very first time or has an already established team that needs a new place to sail, Courageous has been able to come through for local schools.
