A single-handed, nonstop unassisted sailing marathon that is held every four years, the Vendée Globe is considered "the most grueling and dangerous prolonged competition on the planet". During his voyage he was able to turn his adventure into an on-line learning experience reaching about 250,000 students. Mr. Wilson also is the founder of sitesALIVE!, a non-profit whose mission is to connect students with sailing adventures that inspire learning across multiple disciplines. Keynote Speaker: Jerry Kirby's sailing career has spanned over 20 years of sailing at the highest levels, including his most recent competition as bowman on the PUMA Volvo Ocean Race boat. Jerry will provide an exhilarating multimedia experience sharing all of the thrills and excitement of this one-of-a-kind around-the-world race.
