Boston Ocean Racing
THANK YOU Boston Ocean Racing & Friends for
Supporting Courageous Sailing and Boston Kids!

Congratulations to our friends and supporters of team Boston Ocean Racing for a strong showing at the Heineken St. Martin Regatta, despite what sounded like a frustrating series of breakdowns and unusually high winds. In their words: "Not our best showing, but we had a great time and raised over $15,000 for Courageous. Thanks to our supporters!"

Boston Ocean Racing (www.bostonoceanracing.org) was co-founded by a group of Boston-area sailors, including Dimitri Vlachos, a Lexington resident who learned to sail at Courageous as an adult. In 2010, they banded together to raise $7,500 for Courageous Sailing’s youth programs and won 2nd at the Heineken Regatta while flying the Courageous colors. We encourage you to take a quick look at their website, especially the “Meet the Team” page, and write the team a quick note of congratulations and gratitude for such a successful fundraising campaign on behalf of Courageous.

Courageous Sailing Receives Top Praise in SAIL Magazine!

"If any organization is fit to evaluate over 500 community sailing programs and deem nine of them the best in the country, it’s US Sailing... According to executive director Jack Gierhart, 'We consider these programs among the best in the country, if not the world, for people to learn how to sail.'" Read the full article here.
