Looking for a venue on the harbor with beautiful views overlooking the skyline? Look no further! Pier 4 in the historic Charlestown Navy Yard is the site of Courageous Sailing’s not-for-profit sailing programs. As a method of bringing in revenue to fund our mission, we rent out the pier for events. With the option of daytime or evening, our popular past events include cocktail parties, wedding receptions (we were recently featured on TheKnot.com), corporate functions, and clambakes. Rental Fee

The cost to rent the pier for daytime or evening events is $3,575. The pier rental fee includes the cost and procurement of a one-day event license as well as access to and use of the event space, which is about 10,000 square feet at the end of Pier 4. This space is outdoors, unfortunately we do not have indoor space available. In addition to the rental fee, we require a $500 security deposit, refundable assuming the site has been cleaned, the rentals have been removed, and the trash has been appropriately disposed off-site.

Facilities

In addition to the pier rental fee, the full price of hosting an event on the pier would also include the cost of additional vendors, such as bathroom rentals, catering, bar-tending, and tent rentals. Since the space is outside, the majority of events require a tent. A tent with sides must be set up if there will be music played at any event. Our tent vendor is Peterson Party Center, and they can be reached at (781) 729-4000 for a quote. The cost of renting the tent and any other accessories (tables, chairs, lights) is not included in the Pier rental fee. Dave's Septic Service, Inc. can provide multiple options for mobile toilets. Fine Print

Our current fees and restrictions are valid only for events being held in 2013. All terms and conditions are subject to our agreement with the City of Boston, the Boston Redevelopment Authority, and the Department of Parks and Recreation.
