There's nothing like the thrill and competitiveness of racing to improve your skills. Courageous makes it easy to get involved, whether a beginner or expert.
Frostbite Racing
Courageous hosts this exciting Saturday racing series from November to March each winter. Teams compete in R19s and J22s. Sign up before October 21 to receive a $100 discount on a Rhodes, or $150 discount on a J.
Saturday Morning Races
Every Saturday in October, members are invited to race Rhodes 19s at Courageous. Racers line up for 6 or 7 around-the-buoy races. Enjoy tight racing in great fall breeze. Beginners are encouraged to come down and be paired up with experienced sailors for a day of racing. There will be a spinnaker and a non-spinnaker division. Join us starting at 11:00am.
Friday Evening Open Races
On Friday evenings during the summer, join us for the open Rhodes 19 racing night and learn the ins and outs of racing in a fun and relaxed environment. Beginners are encouraged to come down and be paired up with experienced sailors for a night of racing. No spinnakers are used and a club barbecue and video of the race wraps up a perfect evening. Join us starting at 5:30pm.
Tuesday Evenings
Are you turned on by competition? Then you should join others with the same passion at Courageous on Tuesday nights. You and your teammates can race against the entire J22 fleet every Tuesday evening starting at 5:30pm. This series gives you experience spinnaker handling and sailing bigger, faster boats, not to mention a great opportunity to network with other racers and to learn some winning tactics.
Clinics
Courageous offers clinics in spinnaker handling and much more! We cover important navigational skills, racing tactics, and boat speed in modular sections so you can focus on the areas where you want to improve. These FREE racing clinics are held every month. Courageous also provides informal lectures and talks after racing on both Tuesday and Friday nights.
